"National Order
of the Double ended Beaver Stick"
"NODBS"
 | This award goes to the person that exemplifies
the term "no dang bs" when it comes to positive effects on animals (domestic and
wild) and the environment. This award is not freely given out because only a small
percentage (less than .00001) of the population really does something about these issues
with no strings tied or attached. |

 | Franklin Tn.- Laura Turner receives the first double-ended
beaver stick (NODBS) . For her untiring devotion to all living things including things
that effect the environment. Laura has saved wetlands that saved beavers in Ashland City
Tn. She has lobbied day and night for for legislation for the "cruelty to
animals" bill. Laura receives calls from people all over Tennessee and the U.S. for
advice on wounded animals, humane issues and other concerns involving animals. There
hasn't been anything "no holds barred" that Laura hasn't been involved in,
including going against sewer plant discharge increases, development, unnecessary road
building, and ancient shrub clearing along ancient roads (the old Natchez Trace to be
exact). There are hundreds of other examples why Laura has received this award. the main
reason is that when she gets involved her attitude is NODBS. Thanks Turner Family! |
 | Ashland City Tn.- Skip Hilliker receives the second NODBS
award. This award was presented on site at one of Skip's beaver projects. He flew down
from Connecticut to build and oversee a beaver dam control mechanism he invented to allow
beaver to thrive without causing flooding problems. Along with scouts and leaders of Boy
Scout Troop 458 the back flow preventer was a success. Brandon Biggs chose this for his
eagle scout project. Also present for the build was Laura Turner, The Army Corps of
Engineers, The Fund for Animals, and Save the Cumberland. Thanks Mr. Hilliker for your
untiring devotion to the beavers and your no bs approach. |
 | Columbia Tn.- Elizabeth Queener has received the long awaited third NODBS award. Her
untiring devotion to conserving land so that things can naturally thrive and her generous
heart in helping people, animals and the environment have earned her this important title.
"No dang bs" exemplifies her spirit and character. Thanks and congratulations
