U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are looking into granting permits for at least three marinas on Old Hickory Lake in Tennessee.

Tn Div. of Environment and Conservation is in the process of issuing an ARAP permit for Cumberland Yacht Harbor. They have never not issued this permit. It is a clean water permit. They should not issue this because this marina will not improve but will damage the water quality on Mill Creek. Please call to protest.

The US Corps of Engineers issued a 404 permit to Cumberland Yacht Harbor. Construction will probably begin in April 2005. Please join STC in the opposition of this atrocity.

Please mail comments about issuing Cumberland Yacht Harbor a 401 Water Quality Permit. Mail to Mike Lee Tennessee Div. of Water Pollution Control, 6th Floor L&C Annex 401 Church St. Nashville Tn. 37243-1534 or call Mike Lee at 615-532-0712 for e-mail address.

Pew Center: Summary of The Lieberman-McCain Climate Stewardship Act

The Walmart on Hwy. 12 in Ashland City Tn. has dug out a whole mountain side to elevate their building out of a flood plain. I'm sure the Little Marrowbone creek is suffering from this. Pictures to follow later.

Mill Creek is being destroyed by development. There is a bridge being proposed on Sevenmile creek, a Target store, a marina, a school in Nolensville, and many sub-divisions.

wpe3.jpg (63880 bytes)This is the Indian Village along Hwy. 100 at the Devon Farm site. Ensworth High School is being built here. It is reported that the owner sold out to metro schools for the same price they could have sold it to Warner Parks.  This is the trash left by the archeologist that dug up the village. At least they could have cleaned their mess up. There was cigarette butts and other litter all over the place. There was at least 20 or more of these tarps they used for the sifted material.
